PROJECT ZERO JOURNAL

No retrospective hero story.

Entries are dated as the experiment happens: progress, boring weeks, setbacks, changed assumptions, and all.

progress

M3 Update: 226.7

Today's weigh-in: 226.7 pounds. I started this at roughly 233, so after nearly 2 weeks I'm now down about 6.3 pounds. Nothing dramatic. No crash diet. No starvation. No sudden conversion into a gym rat.

setback

Real Life Doesn't Care About Your Fitness Plan

I had a movement plan. Most nights, my brother and I were walking about two miles. Nothing glamorous. No medals. No Strava heroics. Just walking. And that's exactly the kind of activity M3 is interested in: something ordinary enough that a person might actually keep doing it. Then I started passing blood.

progress

First Weigh In - 230.1

230.1 pounds. Project Zero started at roughly 233. So we're now about 2.9 pounds down.

method

The Accidental Household Diet

One of the first useful discoveries in M3 wasn't really about me. It started with Mom. She needed to change how she ate, so the household started moving toward meals that were lower in sodium, lower in refined carbohydrates, calorie-conscious, light on fried food and built around more reasonable portions. And I realized something obvious: Dieting is a hell of a lot easier when the house isn't fighting you.

M3 Project Zero: I'm the Test Subject

M3 starts with a fairly simple premise: I am not a fitness influencer. I'm a 52-year-old programmer, lifelong nerd, and somebody who has spent most of his life regarding gyms with approximately the same enthusiasm I reserve for root canals.

Day Zero

233 lb. Age 52. No trainer origin story, no secret athletic past, no finished program to sell. Project Zero starts here.

Resistance Is Futile

Project Zero begins on September 7 – 7 of 9 Day. Starting weight: 233 lb. The goal is not a crash diet or a magic number on the scale, but a sustainable rebuild of strength, energy, health, confidence, and body composition.

The Question

What is the smallest evidence-led health and fitness system a busy, skeptical, middle-aged man can actually sustain long enough to matter?

method

Rules Before Results

No miracle claims. No proprietary supplement required. Failed experiments stay visible. Experts outrank Brian when appropriate.
