M3 Update: 226.7
Today's weigh-in: 226.7 pounds. I started this at roughly 233, so after nearly 2 weeks I'm now down about 6.3 pounds. Nothing dramatic. No crash diet. No starvation. No sudden conversion into a gym rat.
M3 Update: 226.7
Today's weigh-in: 226.7 pounds.
I started this at roughly 233, so after nearly 2 weeks I'm now down about 6.3 pounds.
Nothing dramatic. No crash diet. No starvation. No sudden conversion into a gym rat.
Mostly, I've been changing the boring everyday stuff.
We've shifted the household toward lower-sodium, lower-sugar, calorie-conscious meals with less fried food and more reasonable portions. I've cut way back on Coke, switched to things like sugar-free cranberry juice and tea, and I'm paying a lot more attention to what I'm actually eating instead of pretending calories don't count if I don't look at them.
For a while, my brother and I were also walking about two miles most nights. Kidney stone problems interrupted that routine, which is actually an important part of this experiment.
Real life doesn't care about your fitness plan.
The goal can't be perfection. It has to be building a system that keeps moving even when one part of it gets disrupted.
If I can't exercise as much for a while, I can still eat better.
If I have a bad meal, I don't have to turn it into a bad week.
If the scale jumps around from water, clothing, sodium, or time of day, the individual number isn't the story.
The trend is the story.
And right now:
233 → 226.7
Still moving in the right direction.
